Try for freeOn one side, you have Loopcloud, with its massive four-million-plus sample library and tight DAW integration for producers who love to tweak. On the other, there's LANDR, bundling samples with mastering and distribution for the artist who needs it all. But how do they actually perform when you’re in the zone?
We’re putting them head-to-head, comparing everything from library quality and workflow to pricing and the real-world problems they solve. The goal is to help you figure out which platform truly fits your process and deserves a spot in your toolkit.
Of course, we think there’s a better way to work with samples. That’s why we built Arcade and our AI tool Co-Producer—to move beyond just finding sounds and start shaping them right inside your session.
A Quick Overview on Loopcloud and LANDR
What is Loopcloud?
Loopcloud is a subscription service centered on a library of over four million samples and loops. Its workflow lets you audition and manipulate sounds from the cloud—in time and key with your project—before you download them. The platform also provides tools to auto-tag and organize your own sample collection, tackling the classic messy folder problem.

What is LANDR?
LANDR takes a different approach by bundling a suite of tools into one subscription. It combines AI-powered mastering, distribution to streaming services, and a library of samples and plugins. The idea is to give you a single pipeline for finishing and releasing your music without juggling multiple services.

Features of Loopcloud and LANDR
Loopcloud Features
Loopcloud's platform is built around a few core functions designed to streamline how you find and use sounds.
- DAW Integration: It allows you to audition and tweak samples in time and key with your project before committing to a download.
- Expansive Library: The service provides access to a library of over four million samples, with thousands of new sounds added each week.
- Sample Organization: It includes tools to auto-tag and organize your own sample collection, not just the sounds from their catalog.
- MIDI and Presets: Beyond samples, the platform offers a large collection of MIDI files and synth presets.
- Plugin Bundle: A suite of third-party plugins comes included with an annual subscription.
LANDR Features
LANDR bundles its tools to cover the entire track lifecycle, from creation to release.
- AI Mastering: An AI mastering engine, available both online and as a plugin, that processes tracks without using presets.
- Unlimited Distribution: The service handles distribution to over 150 streaming platforms, letting you keep 100% of your royalties, and your music stays live even if you cancel the subscription.
- Samples and Plugins: Access to a library of over three million royalty-free samples and a collection of more than 40 instrument and effects plugins.
- Remote Collaboration: A video chat platform designed for remote sessions that streams high-definition audio directly from your DAW.
- Educational Courses: A catalog of over 200 online courses covering production, mixing, and music business topics.
Why Choose One Over The Other?
Choose Loopcloud if your process is built around deep sample diving and manipulation. It gives you an enormous library of over four million sounds to audition and tweak in time with your project, unlike LANDR's capped annual sample downloads. It’s a tool focused squarely on the sound-sourcing part of your workflow.
Go with LANDR if you want an all-in-one service to take a track from creation to release. It packages AI mastering, distribution, and collaboration tools alongside its sample library. This makes it a utility for finishing and shipping music, while Loopcloud concentrates on the initial sound discovery phase.
Output: A Better Alternative to Loopcloud And LANDR
While Loopcloud offers a massive sound library and LANDR provides an end-to-end release pipeline, we at Output built our tools for a different reason. We believe the best ideas come from playing, not just picking. Our ecosystem is designed to turn sound sourcing into an extension of your instrument, keeping you in the creative flow instead of pulling you out of it.
What is Output?
We make a suite of software instruments, effects, and AI tools designed to shape sound.
- A Playable Sample Engine: Instead of just browsing files, Arcade is an instrument loaded with constantly evolving sounds. You can perform, tweak, and even load your own samples into it, all synced to your session.
- AI-Powered Sound Discovery: Our Co-Producer tool listens to your track and suggests fitting sounds from our library. You can guide it with natural language, turning a search into a conversation.
- Characterful Effects Plugins: We build effects that do more than just polish. Tools like Portal for granular textures, Thermal for complex distortion, and Movement for rhythmic modulation are sound-design powerhouses.
- Deeply Sampled Instruments: Beyond our subscription, we have a catalog of acclaimed Kontakt instruments like Exhale, which focus on specific sonic palettes for vocals, strings, and bass.
- A Complete Studio Environment: Our ecosystem extends beyond software. In partnership with DEFI, we offer ergonomic studio furniture designed to support the physical workflow of a producer.
Ultimately, the choice comes down to your workflow. If you want to browse a giant catalog of raw materials, Loopcloud is for you. If you need a service to master and distribute a finished track, LANDR has you covered. But if you want tools that feel like instruments—tools that help you manipulate, perform, and discover sounds in a way that sparks new ideas—that’s where we come in.

Pricing of Loopcloud vs LANDR
Loopcloud Pricing
Loopcloud runs on a subscription model with three tiers, paid either monthly or annually. Your choice mainly comes down to how many sounds you plan to download and whether you want a bonus plugin pack.
The plans are called Artist, Studio, and Professional. On a monthly basis, you’re looking at $7.99, $11.99, and $21.99, respectively. The main difference is the number of “points” you get to spend on sounds—100 for Artist, 300 for Studio, and 600 for Professional. You also get more cloud storage for your own samples as you move up the ladder.
If you go for an annual plan, you get a discount for the first year and a bundle of 10 third-party plugins to keep. That plugin pack is exclusive to the yearly commitment. For those just wanting to test the waters, the monthly plans come with a 14-day free trial and 100 points to spend.
LANDR Pricing
LANDR structures its pricing around two main offerings: the all-in-one Studio subscription and a separate plan just for distribution. It’s a pick-your-path approach depending on whether you need the whole toolkit or just the final step.
The Studio plans—Essentials, Standard, and Pro—bundle mastering, samples, and plugins, running from about $8 to $25 a month. All three tiers give you unlimited distribution and access to a suite of plugins.
The main trade-offs as you climb the ladder are your monthly sample credits and how many WAV masters you get. The Pro plan at $24.99 a month unlocks unlimited WAVs and gives you 200 sample credits. The lower tiers cap you at three WAV masters and offer either 100 or 150 credits.
Then there's the Distribution Only option for when you just need to get your tracks out there. For a few bucks a month—$2.99 for Basic or $4.99 for Pro—you get unlimited releases to all major platforms. The Pro version just adds priority support and better analytics to the package.
Output Pricing
We designed our pricing to be simple and give you access to the tools you need without the headache. The most straightforward way to get our core software is with the Output One subscription. For $14.99 a month (or $119.99 a year), you get our entire suite of flagship tools: Arcade, Co-Producer, and all our effects plugins—Portal, Thermal, and Movement.
If you don't need the whole bundle, you can subscribe to Arcade on its own for $12.99 a month. Our AI tool, Co-Producer, is also available separately for $9.99 a month or $79.99 for the year.
You can try Arcade completely free for 7 days to see how it fits into your workflow before committing.
For producers who prefer to own their software, our FX plugins and Kontakt instruments like Exhale are available as one-time purchases. We also offer a bundle with all our effects and instruments if you want to grab the entire collection outright.
Loopcloud, LANDR, or Output: Which is The Best Sample Library for You?
So, what’s the final verdict? Loopcloud is a powerhouse for sample hunting, and LANDR streamlines your path to release—both are solid tools for specific jobs. We built our ecosystem for producers who want to stop browsing and start playing, shaping sound directly in their session.
